Chapter 7

“Casey, have you lost your fucking mind? What the fuck? How do you just stand your husband up at the altar and send another girl? Do you know how much embarrassment you brought to this family? I can’t believe you!” Casey’s mother shouted as she paced back and forth in their living room.

Casey’s sister was just as disgusted. She sat in her father’s chair, next to the window while sipping a glass of wine. They had witnessed Elsie reveal herself to Yves and watched him faint. They didn’t know what to do and Casey had turned off her phone. While the wedding was going on, Casey went home and booked herself a one-way flight to France and packed up all her things. She loved her career and her city, but the things that went on between her and Yves, she felt she needed a long get away. She didn’t know how long she was going to be in France, but it was going to be a long time.

“Mom, you’re only thinking about yourself right now, as usual. You and Elli make me sick. I’m glad I left his ass at the altar and spoiled yal plans. The motherfucker was a cheater and that was his baby mama.”

Casey’s mother and Elli were in shock. They stood there speechless.

Elli spoke up. “Wow, sis, I am so sorry. I feel so selfish for blaming you for leaving his ass at the altar. It was a mess. The nigga passed out when he saw his baby mother’s face. They had to take him to the hospital.” Elli laughed.

Casey laughed. “Serves his dog ass right. She can have him and I made sure she took him. I wasn’t putting up with his ass. He was going to marry me by day and marry her later tonight at the beach. I knew about it for weeks, but I just didn’t know how to approach the situation. I was going to go through with it and push my feelings to the side, but I just couldn’t. So, to make myself feel better, I’ve decided to move to France for a while. I bought a one-way ticket and I don’t know when I am coming back. You guys can always come visit me or call me on the phone. But I am leaving to try and find myself.”

Casey’s mom and sister were sad that she was leaving, but they knew Casey had to do what was best for her.

“Well, that was a bombshell. My baby was getting cheated on, and now she is moving to France. I wish you the best of luck. I will definitely be coming to visit,” Casey’s mother said.

The three of them hugged and Casey’s mom opened a bottle of champagne.

“Your father was pretty upset, I think he's at the bar. He couldn’t believe it wasn’t you that he walked down the aisle, but I'll explain everything in the morning,” Casey’s mother said as she poured them a drink…
